(Eleven percent say they use them only because they\u2019re \u201ccool\u201d.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">What if there wasn\u2019t a mobile app for that?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">More than a third of small businesses say they couldn\u2019t survive, or that it would be a challenge to survive, without <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paradisosolutions.com\/solutions\/mobile-learning\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>mobile apps<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>, says a new survey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">OK, so it was AT&amp;T that conducted the\u00a0survey\u2014not exactly a disinterested party. But consider that last year,\u00a0<em>Inc<\/em>.<em>\u00a0<\/em><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>named<\/em><\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> the mobile app design industry<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0one of an entrepreneur\u2019s best prospects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The AT&amp;T study found that 72 percent of small businesses used mobile apps in their operations. AT&amp;T surveyed 2,246 small business owners\u2014\u201dsmall\u201d being defined as between two and 50 employees, both part-time and full-time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Top on the list of app uses was GPS and mapping, with nearly half (49 percent) of companies using them. A distant second was a tie between social media marketing and document management, with 26 percent of firms apiece. Other popular apps included location-based services (24 percent), time management (23 percent), travel and expense tracking (22 percent), and mobile credit card payments (20 percent).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The biggest reason for using <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paradisosolutions.com\/solutions\/mobile-learning\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>mobile apps<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>: Saving time, said 62 percent of those polled. 59 percent cited increased productivity, and 29 percent said cost-saving. Interestingly, 11 percent admitted to using mobile apps \u201cto be cool and hip\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Other survey findings: Small businesses with Facebook pages jumped to 41 percent, from 27 percent in 2009.
